Community

The current membership of our congregation includes a wide array of professionals, artisans, and academics, singles, families, Holocaust survivors, grandparents, and retirees. Some members live in the Morningside and Virginia Highlands neighborhoods, while others live in and around the Greater Atlanta area. We even have members in other states and in Israel.

Some congregants were raised as observant Jews, while others are just discovering Judaism. Members find Anshi to be a shul filled with fellowship and warmth, a refuge from larger, more impersonal synagogues. Anshi S'fard is a shul where people meet not only to pray, but also to develop meaningful connections with other Jews.

We encourage participation from all persons: congregants lead services, read the Torah and Haftorah portion, and share words of Torah.
